We need your prayers!

We feel kind of like there has a been a set back this morning and Luke is not quite as stable.  His blood pressure and brain pressures have spiked and they have stayed volatile not responding to the initial medication.  Also, please pray for Ben and Lindsey as they are experiencing the emotions, of this being one of the first setbacks since the ICU .  Please pray!

  6. I am keeping Luke and the entire family in my thoughts and would like to share a story with his parents. It’s a long story but I’ll try to give the short version. When my daughter was 5 she was diagnosed with Leukemia. We began treatment and there was a complication which lead to her having a cardio-pulmonary arrest at the hospital. It was of course extremely chaotic but by most accounts she was without a pulse and breathing for about 15 minutes. She was revived and taken to the PICU. We didn’t know what to expect. She had a sever brain injury from the lack of oxygen. Once she woke she was extremely disabled. She could not move on her own; could not speak nor see and was having chemo for the cancer. We spent 1 month at UVA and 2 months at Kluge Childrens’ Rehabilitation Center in Cville. Since that time she has made a miraculous recovery…one her doctors didn’t even expect.

Today she is 10 years old and a simply wonderful kid. She has a few deficits including a slight learning dissability and some coordination difficulties. However, if you met her today you would never know the struggles she indured. She sees, speaks and runs around like most other kids!

I use that story to let you know that children can make miraculous recoveries but that the road is the roughest you will ever travel as a parent. I know that my daughter’s and Luke’s situations are different but their resiliance as children is greatly in their favor.

It is obvious how much you love your children, and that love will carry you a long way. Although you may be faced with some setbacks and are certainly having thought you don’t want to have, it does sound like there is a high level of encouraging news from the doctors and Luke’s movements. I will continue to think about you all and sincerely hope that Luke makes a full recovery…as he is capable of doing!

  14. LORD,
WE COME ASKING THAT YOU BREATHE LIFE INTO LUKE’S BODY TO THE FULLNESS!! WE ASK THAT YOU RISE UP A FAITH TO THOSE WHO ARE DOWN ON THEIR KNEES PRAYING FOR LUKE, A FAITH LIKE THEY HAVE NEVER HAD, A NEW FAITH THAT NOT ONLY WOULD YOU “PLEASE DO A MIRACLE” BUT A NEW FAITH OF “YOU CAN, AND ARE MORE THAN ABLE!” WE PROCLAIM IN YOUR NAME, THAT YOU BRING THOSE VITAL’S BACK INTO PERFECT ALLIGNMENT! BRING GLORY TO YOUR NAME THROUGH LUKE TO ALL WHO ARE PRAYING & NEAR HIM. SHOW NOT ONLY YOURSELF TO US, BUT TO THOSE DOCTORS, NURSES, AND ANY UNBELEIVERS THAT MIGHT HAVE DOUBT!

AS WE ARE PRAYING THIS OVER LUKE & YOU ALL, WE ARE ALSO WORSHIPING, AND THE SONG THAT IS ON, IS “YOUR LOVE NEVER FAILS” AND IT SAYS:

“WHEN THEIR IS PAIN IN THE NIGHT, JOY COMES IN THE MORNING”
“WHEN THE OCEANS RAGE, I DON’T HAVE TO BE AFRAID, BECAUSE I KNOW THAT YOU LOVE ME’!
“YOUR LOVE NEVER FAILS, YOUR LOVE NEVER FAILS”
“YOU MAKE ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR MY GOOD”
“YOU MAKE ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR “LUKES” GOOD”!!!

LORD, WE ALSO ASK RIGHT NOW THAT YOU MAKE YOURSELF SO REAL AND SO PRESENT TO BEN & LINDSEY IN A WAY THEY HAVE NEVER FELT BEFORE!! PUT YOUR ARMS AROUND THEM IN A BLANKET OF LOVE, PEACE, AND STRENGTH. WE ASK THAT AS THE DOCTORS, NURSES, OR ANYONE WHO ENTERS LUKE’S ROOM WOULD FEEL YOUR PRESENCE SO STRONGLY, THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO WALK AWAY AND NOT KNOW WHO YOU ARE & WHAT YOU ARE CAPABLE OF!!! AMEN!!
    LOVE,
CHRISTY, JAMIE, DILLON & CONNOR LAM

  19. Lord God Almighty,

Hear from your throne and act according to the desires and prayers of your servants on behalf of Luke Yoder! Lord, your are our God who does hear and who does show compassion. Will you please show your mercy and grace even now and lift this boy up and give him life!! Put him back on his feet Lord as you did the little Talitha in Mark 5. Lord we know you are capable – there is nothing too hard for our God!
Have mercy we cry out to You – have mercy. Your will be done.

  25. Dear Yoder family,

My heart is sad for you, but we serve a mighty big God and His Word tells us that He will supply all our needs. May He supply everything you need to stand during this terrible time. May His healing be complete and may His Love sustain you.

  26. We are still faithfully praying for you dear son. I am counting on seeing his bright and smiling face soon.

Even though we don’t know you real well yet, our hearts are full of compassion, and hurting right along with you. Luke is precious and we enjoy seeing him at school. Nicholas has been very concerned and continues to pray for Luke. He has shown great sensitivity and love for Luke, and has been praying with me and on his own. Christ may be doing many things you may never know until heaven through this accident. I prayed that the doctors and nurses would see the faith of all gathering there, and the prayers, and the hope from Christ, and that some empty soul or souls would desire what “you all” have and seek and find Jesus Christ.

“The Lord is trustworthy in all He promises and faithful in all He does.
The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.” Psalm145:13b,14

We will be faithful in prayer, Love the Crabtree family
