Wristbands

The family has had some wristbands made that say “PRAY 4 LUKE”    We would like to get these out to folks, who would like to have one, as a practical reminder to lift Luke up in prayer.

In the Harrisonburg area you can pick one up at  Harrisonburg First Church of the Nazarene. (We should have them there by 10:00am Thursday)  The address is:  1871 Boyers Rd  (Corner of Boyers Rd and Port Republic Rd)   Phone: 434-1092

In the Staunton/Waynesboro area you can pick one up at Blue Ridge Church of Christ in Fishersville. (After 10:00am)  The address is:  1275 Goose Creek Rd.     Phone:  949-7956

We are sending a bunch to the Sarasota, Fl area also,  but if you live in other areas and are interested in receiving a wristband please contact Mike:  yoder5@ymail.com  with address and quantity need, and we will see what we can do.  Obviously we want everyone, who wants one, to get one if we can handle the requests.

  1. We will get a wrist band and pass them around to folks who are ready to pray! Especially remembering Luke as he starts to wake up soon.

  5. Hi Ben and Lindsay,

We have been thinking about you non-stop the last few weeks and praying constanstly. Ben,your last posts were very meaniful. We struggled with some of the same issues when Faith was in the hospital and after she went to live with our Father in heaven. I believe that our God is a big God and there were days when even though I believed with my whole heart in God, I still had to yell at him and tell him this was this most unfair thing I think he could do. I had to question Why. But you know God knows exactly what we are feeling and even when we question why or have our “upset” moments God knows that we still love him and doesn’t question our faith. Like you mentioned, Chan and I also came to the conclusion that there will be many questions that we won’t get answers to as well until we meet our heavenly Father face to face. We have learned to be okay with that and continuing praising him even on our hard days or through the “storms” life throws our way. Somebody asked me if I beleived that God wanted Faith to die. Our response has always been that we don’t think God ever wants anything bad to happen to those who believe in him, but we live in a broken world because of Adam and Eve’s sin. However, I believe with my whole heart that God will always make something good come out of any situation. Look at how many lives Luke has touched from his hospital bed. I hope these words are encouraging to you. We will continue to pray for the “waking” up process. One thing nice about UVA is they do take it slow to lessen any of the sideeffects from the weaning process. May God be especially close to you in the coming days and weeks.

  6. I would love some wristbands. our kids are all coming home this next week and I am sure they would love one too. How much are they so we can pay for them? We would need probably at least 8 to 10 of them. Just let me know.

We will continue to pray for Luke and for your entire family as you have so many difficult days ahead of you. I wish so much we could come out there. I pray that the weaning process will be slow enough for Luke to get acclimated to where he is and will remember the accident so he won’t be as confused. We are so impressed with you both as you stand strong for your beautiful son, Luke.

    Love and prayers….Joe and Esther

  7. I am so very thankful that our Great and Glorious God is ALWAYS FAITHFUL and we have his word to know his promises and that he is an ever present help in times of trouble.
God Bless and Keep Luke and your family in His tender loving care.

Let all that I am praise the Lord.
I will praise the Lord as long as I live.
I will sing praises to my God with my dying breath.

    Don’t put your confidence in powerful people;
there is no help for you there.
When they breathe their last, they return to the earth,
and all their plans die with them.
But joyful are those who have the God of Isreal as their helper,
whose hope is in the Lord their God.
He made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them.
    He keeps every promise forever.
He gives justice to the oppressed
    and food to the hungry.
    The Lord frees teh prisoners.
The Lord opens the eyes of the blind.
The Lord lifts up those who are weighed down.
    The Lord loves the godly.
    Psalm 146

  8. We are continuing to lift your family up in prayer. It is amazing to me to see the scripture, songs of praise and beautiful comments from all who know and love you, as well as from those whom you have never met. I love hearing how the Lord is calling us all to pray and drawing us all nearer to himself through this. Thank you for sharing your hearts with us.

  10. We went and got our wristbands already. I took my 3 boys to get one each and we talked about what they are for and what to say when someone ask about them. I also picked up extras for my family. I enjoyed meeting Jeff’s wife that delivered the bands. We are continuing to pray for the family and for Luke! We hope that he has a good day and that it will be a smooth transition when “waking” up! Blessings!

  11. Who can I contact (Shea? Maretta, etc?) about getting some here in SRQ, directly? I’d be happy to help coordinate that, so that Abundant Lifers, “old” crew from Young Adult Bible Study, etc. can get them….I see Debbie M. requested some and would be willing to order, etc. Maybe Mullets Appl. and Allum. could “host them” as a pick up locations? If anyone wants to call me (Debbie or Yoders in VA) about coordinating this, please do: 928-3910 (SRQ area code…).

  12. Hi Ben and Lindsey,
My thoughts and prayers are with you both. When i am thinking of your family, the song “praise you in this storm” keeps popping in my head….It is all in God’s hands and know that Luke’s life has already touched more people than you probably even know. I have shared his story with some friends in Cincinnati, I believe they all walk away thinking about there own lives and what they need to be grateful for and/or change.

I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
    No matter where I am
    Every tear I’ve cried
    You hold in Your hand
    You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

    With love,
    Alexandra

  14. Ben and Lindsey,
Luke and your family are on our constant thoughts and prayers. Our family loves that CD from Bible school too. GOD IS POWERFUL!!! Every time we play that CD we think of Luke. I think every song there is for him! Your family is being such a bright light in that hospital, and we pray for continued strength for you all. We love you guys and can’t wait to see what else God has in store for Luke.
