Lukeyoder's Blog

Just another WordPress.com weblog

saturday morning

Luke is currently sleeping in after a lively night. The fentanyl [sedative]  was decreased again just before bed time, so we had a good amount of squirming, coughing, and grabbing going on.  He is initiating all his own breaths now, while still supplemented by respirator.  All numbers and pressures good and stable, and he is still squeezing hands on command. This is all very good.  We have not heard from the doctors yet this morning.  Please pray for them for wisdom on  when to remove respirator and stop sedation. Also pray for Lukes eyes. They are both responding to light, but still have a long way to go.  Also, the  staples and brain pressure moniter both still need to be removed from his head .  Luke remains, as always,  safe in the arms of Jesus  .  May His perfect timing for his perfect healing that enables Luke to fulfill all of the plans that God has for his life , in order to bring  honor and glory to the name of Jesus Christ ,be done. amen.  God is faithful who also will do it.          – Phil

  1. We have been following this link since the prayer request came over email. We live in TX but just moved from Broadway, VA. Praise God for all the improvements Luke is making each day. God is the ultimate healer and comforter. Our entire family (including our 3 children similar in age to your) gathers around the computer each day to read and pray for your strength and peace along with Luke’s healing and wisdom for doctors. May God bless you and hold you and ALL your family tight in his loving arms every moment of every day. Your faith and trust during this time brings tears to my eyes – I praise God for carrying you through this each day! I can’t imagine going through your situation. But what a loving and mighty God we serve! We will continue to pray for Luke – and for you all. Our friends here are praying also.

  2. We continue to praise the Lord for all that he has done and is continuing to do on Luke’s behalf. We pray for continued improvement for Luke and continued strength for Ben, Lindsey and the family. These verses speak volumes…Ephesians 3:14-21. Our love and prayers are with you.

  3. We appreciate the specific updates from the family for the purposes of praying for Luke’s specific needs as they are known. Luke is surely blessed to be a part of the Yoder family, as the Yoder family is surely blessed to call Luke family, too.

We continue to plead the blood of Jesus on your behalf and we pray specifically that the doctors will have wisdom as they accompany Luke on His journey to wholeness. Yes, may the medical teams have wisdom that can only be credited to the mind of Christ — our Great Physician. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

    ALL JOY!

  8. My wife just found out about Luke today from a co-worker at SAS Institute in Research Triangle Park. This lady’s daughter was a member of the copter crew that Life-Flighted Luke to the UVa Medical Center. We just wanted you all to know that he has been added to our prayer list and will be remembered daily. Sometimes wonderful things come from the ashes of tragedy. Our God is a loving, merciful and healing God. We have seen this evidenced in the last two weeks with the 11 year-old grandson of a dear friend as well as a 69 year-old high school teammate of mine. Both are fighting a battle with cancer, and are WINNING!!! We know that prayer works, and we will continue to lift Luke up to God each day.

I also heard that Luke is a Duke fan. I have been the radio ‘Voice of the Blue Devils’ for 34 years. I am making football coach David Cutcliffe and basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski aware of Luke and his fight.

Just remember, ‘If He brings you to it, He will bring you through it.’ God Bless You.
