Saturday

Jeff and I came to the Kluge Center today to stay with Luke. Ben and Lindsey haven’t been home since the accident and we all thought it would be good for them to take a break and head home for the day. We were so excited when we got here this morning. Luke looked so good and his eyes looked much better. He was moving them from side to side more. He has been doing so much today. Smiling really big, throwing the football a bunch, he even winked at Logan when he ask him to. We also got a big kick out of this…….we were walking him through the halls in his wheelchair and there was some football stuff on the walls so we asked him if he liked the Redskins and he did thumbs down, we asked him a few others and he had no comment, then we said do you like Duke and he not only gave us one thumbs up, we got two thumbs up and a huge smile, the biggest that we had seen. Anyone that knows Luke very good knows he’s a huge Duke fan so that was really neat to see how excited he still gets over talking about it. It seems like eveytime we come up he is just so much more alert and responsive. I am so glad Jeff and I got to come up and stay today, he is just so sweet and it is awesome to be able to see his progress. Please continue to pray for Luke and his family they will continue to need it! Thanks
Shea(Aunt)

  2. It’s so awesome to read these reports that you all have been giving the last few days. Luke is doing amazing and Jill and I cannot wait to come back to see him. I was talking to Lindsey a little bit today and we both agreed that it stinks not to be there right now but when we see him again we will truely be amazed at what God has done with Luke and what advances he will have made. Thanks Jeff and Shea for spending the day with Luke and giving Ben and Lindsey some much needed down time and a chance to go home and see Andrew and Maleah. I’m sure they missed being home. We continue to pray for you Luke and we know that God is touching you with his healing hands and that you will be as good as new….BETTER than new in no time. I can’t wait to see you again! I love you buddy!

  4. Hi Ben and Lindsey and family,
Your wonderful Aunt Fern Mullet brought us the red Pray 4 Luke bracelets! Not that we needed that reminder! You are never far from our thoughts. I put Steve’s bracelet on his thermos that sits beside him on the bedside stand all the time. He touches it and sees it all day long. We are so thankful for the progress Luke is making and will continue to make. Hang in there: and KNOW that God loves you and He is able to do more than we can imagine. We will keep your whole family in our prayers.
    Love,
    Steve and Judy Ponchot

I’m glad you are home tonight…may your sleep be deep.

You need huge amounts of His Grace…and we’re all remembering to plead your case.

  6. Ben and Lindsey,
Truly a week of transition, from the choas of the ICU to the quietness of the Kluge Center. From doctors you had come to rely on, to beginning new relationships with new doctors and therapists.

The reports of Luke’s progress continue to be truly humbling – so many in the Family of God continue to pray for his restoration and knitting together.

I pray that just as Luke, dad and mom feel the warm embrace of the sun and the gentle breeze under the shade of the trees at the Kluge Center, that you will likewise continue to feel the warm embrace of the Son, the gentle Breeze of the Spirit, and the rest found in the shade offered by our heavenly Father – praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Pastor Roger – He will quiet you with His love!
