There’s Power In Prayer

There’s no doubt in my mind Luke is a miracle.  After all we’ve been through the last six weeks, that is the only explanation.  I was wondering what the doctors would say or how they would explain his progress. Last week before we left Kluge as an “inpatient” they wanted us to get the G-tube removed and to see the ENT specialist.  So we went back to the hospital. The doctor that removed the G-tube was a pediatric surgeon who had seen Luke a couple times in the PICU. After he came into the room, he asked Luke some questions, and then looked at him, and said; “You know you’re a miracle”.

Then we went over to see the ear, nose, and throat specialist who was involved in some of Luke’s procedures in the Intensive Care Unit, he removed the breathing tube before Luke went to Kluge.  He also told Luke that he is a miracle and then looked at Lindsey and I and said; “If you need evidence in the power of prayer, you don’t have to look far”.  I was somewhat surprised by their responses.  I knew God had divinely intervened but thought the doctors would have some medical explanation.  Both of these well respected doctors explained Luke’s progress very simply and straight forward.  It was refreshing to me that they didn’t feel they needed to come up with a medical reason.  It was simple, Luke’s progress has been miraculous.

  6. God wants us to remember that HE is yesterday, today and tomorrow a God who we can totally trust and HE IS a God of miracles and I believe we have miracles that happen all the time we just don’t see them or admit that they are miracles. SO good to know that these dr.s admit Luke’s miracle.

  8. Truly a miracle from the wonderful God we serve! Rejoicing that God is working still and prayerfully will continue to, in the lives of those you have had contact with through this trial. Praising God with you and praying for a complete recovery and return.

  9. Miracles don’t just happen in Africa and Nepal and other 3rd world countries. They happen right here in America. We are so blessed with the miraculous healing that we see in Luke. May God bless and heal each of you where there is brokenness. We hope too that Carson is on the mend and up and running soon.

Your story has given renewed faith for a lot of people!

  15. Thanks for the time you take to give updates and Praise to God our faithful healer! As part of the medical profession, it always excites me to hear when Drs and surgeons in particular acknowledge that the result (Luke) that they are seeing is a true miracle! I continue to pray blessings over you family.
