Lukeyoder's Blog

Just another WordPress.com weblog

Updates

Again we want to thank you all for the prayers and support. Its been amazing. There’s people we’ve never met, but feel like we know them, through this blog and through cards and letters. I know a lot of you feel the same way. We will try and do better keeping you all updated on Luke’s progress. The posts might become a little shorter but more regular. I’m also going to try and recruit some family members, who are often with us, to keep things current. We’ve also heard your request for more pictures and some of our extended family. We’ll also work on this.

Luke is continuing to get stronger and back to the Luke we knew before the accident. His eyes are getting better and he’s able to read things, that just last week would have been very difficult for him to make out. We’re believing, with time, his eyes will be completely healed. School is the next big step. We expect he’ll be ready for half days in a couple of weeks.  His eyes still need to improve and he needs to get just a little stronger yet. It just takes time, he”s been through a lot!

I’m so thankful for Luke and his Life! We feel so blessed to be home with Luke and to see his progress first hand! He’s a special young man!

  1. Praising God with you in the healing process for Luke. We serve the God of the universe, He is awesome and does awesome things! So thankful that God has answered for you in the way that He has! Will continue to pray for Luke to become stronger so he can get back to his “normal” life with school and activity.

  3. Luke has strengthened my faith at a time when it was faltering/becoming “blah”. I will always be grateful to Him for using Luke to minister me. What a mighty God we serve! May the ministry He has for Luke touch many lives far and wide and may many, many know the Gospel of the risen Lord b/c of your precious family. He is mighty to save. Amen and amen!

  6. Isaac was so thrilled to have Luke visit the class this week.
It’s so exciting to see his daily progress. As everything continues to change with his progress it’s nice to have the up-dates but please don’t feel as if you need to keep up the same level of communication. YOU have your plates full taking care of your family and finding your new norm. It will be a happy day when you no longer feel the need to keep the blog going. (If you where to choose that). Praying for continued strength and healing for all of you. The Mehegans

Know that someone you do not know has been praying for Luke..and mostly for his parents..we do not understand the GRACE of God..but we are forever grateful for the lives of those we love, the times we know beyond a shadow of doubt that God has spared the lives of those we love..what an awesome responsibility we have now to live our lives in gratitude to Him,WHO is Mighty to Save

  8. Wonderful news! I’m glad his eyes are coming along. Perhaps now that he’s out of the halo, it’s a good thing to have something tangible to chart his progress by and remind him to take it just a bit easy for a while longer while his neck is healing. At any rate, praise God that his vision is returning, day by day. 🙂
