Lukeyoder's Blog

Just another weblog

DSC_1692We are taking it day by day, and Luke is getting stronger and stronger.  The plan as of now is for him to start half days at school next week.  We are waiting for his reading glasses to come in.  His energy is increasing and he is wanting to get out and be more active.  The transition to school, even for half a day, will be tiring for him so we are praying for increased stamina and strength for his body.  He is still healing-mind and body.

Last Thursday, I took Luke to visit his class for about an hour.  Wow, what a welcome he received! DSC_1686 The kids from all grades were so excited to see him and just showed him so much love, we were both surprised.  Faculty and staff had hugs and words of encouragement for him.  It makes me feel better knowing that he will be in the care of so many godly people who love him and will watch out for him.  But it will still be hard to let him go, so I ask for prayer for peace and trust.  I thought it would be good to let you all see some recent pictures of his visit to school.

Thank you for your continued support and prayer, thanks for staying connected!  It’s pretty amazing how many people care and are impacted by Luke’s story.  I have found that we can’t go many places without someone knowing about him.  He’s getting pretty good at explaining it all and gives God the glory for his healing….Awesome!

  2. Lindsay,

Yeah!!! Kameron said he saw Luke at school and was so excited. How wonderful for all the children who have prayed so much for Luke, to see those prayers answered! We will continue to pray for his eyes and his strength.
    Lots of Love,

  3. Praising the Lord with you and so excited for Luke to get into school again. Will continue to pray for his strength and stamina, but also for mom and dad as they “let him go” back to school and not under their watchful eye.

  4. So very awesome Luke! I promise I am coming to see you soon! I hate when I get so busy that I have no time to do the things I want to do! I think of you everyday and continue to pray.

  5. I have been reading your blog from Sarasota, Fl and have been praying for you and your family. I don’t know where in Va you all are but as far as Luke’s eyes… there are doctors that specialize in post brain injuries. Look into this for Luke… go to and they can guide you through finding a doctor near you. We are on that list in Osprey, Fl.

  6. It was so fun to see Luke, even from a distance when he came to visit. I was busy in Andrew’s class so I wasn’t able to come up and visit, but what a blessing. I know all the kids whether they are in his class or not are praying for his return to school. Brook was very excited to see him! We are continuing to pray for healing and for you as you transition into letting him go a little bit next week. God is in control, but I guess I really don’t have to tell you that, you’ve seen it first hand.

  7. Yea for Luke … and what a faith booster for all of these children.. I know my faith has beeen boosted ! 🙂 Wish we were closer so we could be a part of the praise service, but just remember we all are still wearing Luke’s bracelet and we continue to pray for his complete healing but NOW we add our heartfelt praises to our Lord and Savior !!!! Ben and Lindsey “letting” Luke go back to school is just one of those moments of giving him wings… so many of those times ahead with your children, but one thing I have learned is that no matter how much I love my kids the Lord loves them so much more and He will take care of them, so rest in this as Luke goes back to school and yes thank the Lord for all those who serve at his school .. God is so Good !!
love to you all, Bill and Debbie

  10. What extraordinary news that Luke is back in school. Our granddaughter, Rachel Goehner, is a classmate. We have been following your blog from day one. We have cried, worried, laughed, celebrated, and most of all prayed. We hope to meet you all some day soon. We are actually neighbors living on Fadley Road just around the curve from you. Praise be to God for His love and grace.
