YES!!!

The doctor’s nurse called today to let us know, and I quote,  “Luke is free to do WHATEVER he wants!!!”.  YES! Praise God!  Our feelings at her words are hard to describe-relief, thankfulness, excitement, joy!  I called the school and talked to Mrs. Barlow (Luke’s teacher), I asked if she would tell Luke the news.  He has been waiting and praying for the results and that he would be able to go to PE and recess soon. Today he did both!  He’s been telling me to make sure I listen for the phone because the doctor is going to call.  When Mrs. Barlow told him the news his whole class cheered.  This also comes just in time for basketball season at school, which is his favorite sport.  Luke told the doc on Tuesday that is something he really wants to be able to do again.  We will take him back in 6 months for x-rays to make sure nothing has changed.

Luke and Ben are headed to Durham, NC for the Duke game and Luke is thrilled.  Pray for safe travels and good weather.  This is going to be a great day for both of them!   Andrew, Maleah, and I will be watching on ESPN, maybe we can spot them.  Check back for pics of the big day!!!

  1. Amazing! Our God is an awesome God! Just a few weeks ago, I was reminded of how God worked in our daughter’s life – she wasn’t able to talk when she was 2 years old… she went thru several years of speech/occupational therapy – we believed God healed her…. well, just tonight she had a speaking part in the Christmas program for school! When I think back to the day when I wondered if I would ever hear her speak and then be able to sit and enjoy her participating in a Christmas program! WOW! God is good…
I’m also reminded of the day we received the news of Luke’s accident and how several days later when I was praying for him – it was like I was seeing balloons – a celebration! Thanks for sharing and we will continue to pray!

  7. In my devotions I was reminded that insurance companies choose to leave room for “acts of God” but those are fightin’ words in operating rooms, laboratories, scientific rap sessions and among newspaper editors. If skeptics have any doubt, they need to visit Luke! God is definitely still performing miracles. Luke’s miraculous heaing has boosted my faith and I give praise to Jesus for how He is using and will use Luke to reflect His glory.
