Sunday!!
Luke had a good night. We give thanks, and praise the Lord for this! His vitals especially his ICP stayed good and steady. Dr. Jane was in this morning, and as of right now the plan is to operate on Luke’s neck tomorrow. It is critical that he has another peaceful-restful day leading up to this. Because of this, the doctors have his room dark and quiet with no stimulation. We as a family are using this time to re-charge as well and spend time with our children at home. I say all this so hopefully you will understand when we say we would rather not have visitors at the hospital today. Ben and Lindsey are planning on a quiet day alone with Luke, and most of the family will be taking a break from the waiting room, so it wouldn’t be the best time to drive over. We are so appreciative of everything you have done for our family. Today we just ask for you to get to your knees and lift Luke up in a unified effort. You know the song says “you don’t have to know what to say, all you have to know is JESUS!” How awesome and comforting is that! Cry out to Jesus for my man Luke!!

Dearest Yoders,
You guys are in our thoughts and prayers, and have been heavy on my heart this week, we will keep you in prayer, Tyler (my little man), who is the same age as Luke has also been praying for him!! I admire how strong your faith is and pray for it to continue and grow stronger. We love and miss you!– We have the VBS cd and now when we hear the song “Your Powerful”, we think of Luke!!! Keep the faith!!!!!!!!!!

What a sweet post to read…..as I worshipped in church this a.m.-my heart weaped before the throne, on Luke’s behalf….we were singing about Jesus being our STRONG TOWER…and that’s the visual I had, for Luke–that God is this HUGE HUGE Tower-like-COLUMN that is UNMOVING-and Luke’s body-back/neck/head-were all resting right up against this tower. Being 1000 miles away-“all I can do is pray,” but that’s the best thing, anyways! Glad to know most are taking today to be w/ their kids/family-I’ve wondered how you’re all doing it, w/ your daily routines/children/responsibilities…..Mike, thank you for the udpate–Love to ALL of you!!!

So glad to hear that Luke is resting quietly and the family is able to take a breather and recharge. We are in continuous prayer for sweet, precious Luke and pray peace over Ben and Lindsey. We have lots of people here praying; even those that you haven’t met before. I’ve asked everyone in our small group to keep Luke, Ben, Lindsey and the whole family in prayer. Be encouraged and know you have a whole group of people joining together and having faith that God is at work. We love you guys and are thinking of you often.

This morning we had a visiting pastor from India speak, he preached out of the 37th chapter of Ezekiel. His message wasn’t what i wanted to share with you but in this chapter the Lord told Ezekiel to phophesy to the dry bones and what to say to them and it came to pass… I was impressed to speak to those parts in Lukes head and neck to “hear the word of the Lord and to come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord” and we know what happened when Ezekiel prophesied as he commanded.. “they came to life and stood up on their feet-a vast army!” So we are praying for Luke!

Please know that you are in our prayers. I keep hearing the song by Mark Schultz, He’s my Son. They’ve been playing it on the radio alot since this has happened. It makes me think of Luke everytime I hear it and brings me to tears each time. We will keep praying for you all. May God grant you sweet peace and rest and complete healing for little Luke. We’re trusting ! Thank you Jesus !

Dear Ben, Lindsey and family-
Elaine Hershberger called me soon after this episode went down. We have been upholding your family in prayer ever since. We have faith that our Lord and Savior will bring you thru these dark days and that you can rest in his arms. We love you all and will maintain our prayer vigil. Love-The DeHavens in SRQ.
Our hearts reach out to you all during this time. We commit to “pouring out our heart like water…for the life of your child” Lam. 2:19. We will be in prayer tomorrow especially, for the surgery. Please be encouraged with these words from Lam. 3:22 “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning, great is His faithfulness!” May you sense the touch of Jesus who will strengthen, uphold, and sustain you.

Heavenly Father, I stand in agreement with my dear brothers and sisters in Christ, that you will hear our prayer for Luke, Ben and Lindsey, and the whole family.
Help us to remember that You are able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the Power that worketh in us. So we step aside, and allow the Holy Spirit to take charge of our lives as HE wills. Dear Lord God, please send your angels to minister to Luke, giving him and the family peace. I know you hear their cries for help. Please dry their tears and wrap your arms of compassion around the whole family. I pray if surgery is needed, you will guide the doctors’ hands as they perform the delicate operation. I pray you would allow Luke’s suffering to end, so that he will be a testimony to your goodness and mercy all the days of his life. Bless Luke’s recovery process and please allow him to know a normal, happy life. I thank you for the knowledge that YOU are in control, Place your loving arms around Luke and somehow let him know that you will never leave nor forsake him and you promise to be with him always.

Just want you guys to know we are lifting Luke up, I know in my heart the Lord has His hand on him. When we went to church this morn. so many people asked about Luke and told us they are praying for him.

We are neighbors at 1000 Fadley Road, up the hill from the Berchers. Richard met Martha once but I have yet to meet your family. Our granddaughter, Rachel Goehner, was a classmate of Luke’s in Mrs. Barnum’s first grade. Our prayers are with you constantly. If there is anything we can do, please call on us. With ten grandchildren of our own, our house is child friendly and we would be glad to meet and care for Andrew and Maleah or have family members over to our house for something as simple as a change of routine or a change of scenery so-to-speak. We would love to help in some way beyond our prayers.

We became aware of your son’s accident and this blog and we’d like to tell you that we will also keep Luke and your family in our prayers. Nothing is outside the realm of possibilities with God, as I’m sure you know, from reading your postings. It is an inspiration to see your faith in the face of such a trial, but that too shows us the strength of God. We will also make our church aware by way of our prayer chain in the morning.
